Back On The Blog Road Again

The last time I blogged was in September of 2006.  I just decided to take a long break from the world of blogging.  College has been keeping me busy these days!!!  I am looking forward to my summer break after a 4.0 GPA this semester.  It looks like the Dean’s list for me again *WOOT* I also received another academic award along with some saving bonds. I am also hoping to get accepted into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.  This would mean some money for college expenses.

I will be taking a summer class for the first time.  Contemp Social Issues shouldn’t be so bad as a compact course. It should be interesting just like Intro to Sociology.  My brain cells will enjoy it for sure *LOL* The best part for me is writing the research papers!!!  It’s always fascinating to explore and find information pertaining to your subject matter.  Fall classes start in Setember this year and my schedule is all set.

The opportunity to volunteer this summer is definitely looking good for me.  I offered my services at the Aids and Cancer Centers.  All I need to do is get my TB testing done.  This was set up for last year, but I had to take of my grandson for the summer.  My heart is filled with happiness at the thought of helping those in need.

My Mother’s Day was spent at my sister’s house.  We had a blast as usual and a great dinner.  I got some gift certificates, flowers and Lush products.  My daughter gave me a real nice leather bag for my wallet, glasses and cell phone.  The love of my life gave me the outfit I was wearing that day.  I picked out a retro outfit.  My pets gave me a bottle of Ginger fragrance from Origins.  That day brought back memories of my Mother.  We went to the cemetary with a bouquet of yellow flowers that were her favorite color.  Overall, it was a blessed day filled with much love.

Last but not least, we had a nest of squirrels in the attic closet.  Those little critters made that closet their home.  It was a task cleaning up and plugging up the holes.  The humane trap was set to capture them.  At about 2:30 am there was a noise in the attic.  We caught one of them and I suspected it was a baby.  That morning I made a few calls, but no one called me back.  I was concerned about letting the baby go back in the wild.  Finally, I got a hold of Donna who is a wildlife rehabilitator.  She told me to bring it to her center.  It turned out it was an adult flying squirrel.  They are the cutest wittle critters!!!  It made me happy that places like this exist in the world to help animals in need.  It was my pleasure to give her a donation :)
